"Questo occhio vede in quella bianchezza Tutto Dio et tutto uomo / The eye sees all of God and all of man in white"
Saint Catherine of Siena
A human being, a man, a priest. A bridge connecting the opposites. Spirit and flesh. The visible leading to the invisible. Body exposed to rituals, disembodied, dehumanised, lonely. Body which is given. Lonely, but never alone, with nature, matter, structures. Ascetic sceneries underline the theme of solitude. Slope of a volcano, a rocky island, a prison-monastery, fallen into disrepair. In these contexts there are hands, back, torso, a silhouette - no faces. One can only suspect the direction of a look or emotions expressed by it. Additionally, the composition of the figure and nudity (even though some symbols acompanying them are clearly connected to rituals) are static - they intensify the aura of alienation and loneliness, light up imagination, pose questions, provoke, do not show any solutions
